Define what one finished video includes

• Record the number of videos, finished duration, channel, aspect ratio, resolution and caption languages. A 60-second talking-head edit and a 60-second product story require different work.
• Share the amount of source footage, an approved style reference and usage permissions. List separate exports, hooks, subtitles and cover images so each supplier prices the same deliverable.

Separate editing from missing footage

• Ask the editor to mark usable shots and missing shots before production. Quote filming, stock assets or AI generation only where the agreed sequence needs additional material.

Approve a sample and revision boundaries

• Approve a short sample for pacing, caption placement, brand treatment and audio before the full edit. Name the reviewer, feedback deadline and included revision rounds in writing.
• Distinguish corrections against the approved brief from new scripts, replacement footage and additional formats. Check current channel and music requirements; YouTube documents square or vertical Shorts up to three minutes.

Prepare a useful editing request

• Submit a footage link, target output, reference, budget ceiling, deadline with time zone and sample acceptance criteria. Request the named executor, delivery files and source retention or deletion terms.
